Fitting the hard drive

I dropped in the 16mm power switch to make sure everything was fine for clearance. That fit snug and perfect: remember measurement is everything before you cut! Here's a close up shot of the rear I/O cut again too; both include tiny etched writing of what each port and button does.

For mounting the HDD in the chassis, I needed stand-offs to allow some airflow around the drive itself, so why not use motherboard stand-offs: simple, and universal.

Mounted in the test-assembly it works perfectly.

The rubber case feet going on it are simple stick-on jobs that definitely do the job of, well, being feet. I loved opening the package for these, because it immediately started to smell like a tire store. Or as my best friend puts it, "that poop and rubber smell".
